Piercings

When I was younger I couldn’t wait to get my ears pierced. But , my dad in his conservative viewpoint, made my sisters wait until they were 16 to have their ears done. I am the 7th of 7 kids, so by the time I was 13 my dad had relaxed a bit and was a bit tired, I think, of fighting it. So, he gave in. Well, now I have double ear piercings and a nose piercing. I have been trying to talk my daighter in to getting her ears done but she has been scared. Well, finally at the ripe old age of 6 she decided she was ready. It was so fun! She was excited and giddy. Then she cried. The girl did a great job and Emma didn’t even realize when she did the second one.
Well, off to buy a new oven. I hate coooking , but realize even now that it is broken how much I use my oven.
Happy Saturday!

My dad wouldn’t let me get my ears pierced until I was 18! Every girl I knew had her ears pierced. When I finally did it was so exciting but one side kept getting infected and closing so after numerous attempts I eventually just let them both close up. For a long time I had two piercings on one ear and none on the other. It’s funny looking back because at the time multiple piercings on an ear was very non-conformist. Sam’s bugging me about a tattoo now. So I’m saying, “When you’re 18! That’s when you can be responsible for making that decision.” But then I have to ask myself (and Sam already did) why 18? What’s so seminal about that age? Why not 16? Why not 14? But I think we’re still sticking with 18 for now.
