Niceties…

Friday, October 29th, 2004

As 6 year old “young” ladies go, Emma is really trying to learn the art of being polite. She does however come up with some stuff that is rival to the big boys. We took the kids to get “slurpees” and she had sucked hers down fairly fast. As we were driving she let out a big belch and then said, “Wow, I haven’t cracked one of those out for a while.” Jared and I were quite amused by her word choice. Kids are great!

Throwing up again!

Christian has been diagnosed with “Stomach Migraines”. He has been on a medication for over a year. Nothing has changed. He still pukes at least monthly, sice he was 2. I am so sick of it. It is one of those things that no one seems to have real help for. My only comfort is that he is not going to die from this. God, would you do something?

CRAP

Monday, October 25th, 2004

My son just said crap in his sleep. It was something like “Mmmmrpg, CRAP. Oh Poop. Well, at least I …smrfgrphhh.”

Funny. Better watch what I say.

Tennis Anyone & IKEA

Monday, October 25th, 2004

I am taking Tennis lessons, starting tomorrow. This is a part of my search to figure out who I really am. Yes, most of you know me as Martha, wife to Jared mother to Christian, Emma and Riley. Well, as of August of next year all three of the cuties will be in school full time. What does one do when they are basically jobless? Oh sure, cleaning and cooking are still there. But not the days of Candyland and Hot Wheels. I feel like I am getting laid off. I know there is more to me, but I guess I just forgot what it is. Also the reason why the urge to have another baby is so great. It’s like securing my position. If I keep having more there will always be a helpless child who needs me. (Save the “volunteer at the orphanage” comments, please.) I really have NO desire to jump into a full time job, or go to school. Anyway, I just thought Tennis would be fun, after all I don’t quite have enough to fill my days, so I’ll add a sport. Hah!

And to the IKEA topic, next time someone goes let me know. I need a couple of things.

Thank you, and goodnight.

Dreaming

Thursday, October 21st, 2004

I had a weird dream last night. I have always wondered how much your subconscious plays into dreams. Or are they just random weird things. Actually this is two days in a row of weird dreams. Maybe its stress. Any thoughts?

I wrote a poem

Wednesday, October 20th, 2004

I was going to post it but now I can’t find it. Poo. Maybe next time. I think I need to write more. I always used to tell my dad I was going to be a writer. He always said, “Ok, so go write.” I guess I should heed his advice.

Riley’s Hawk

Riley got a haircut today. I was inspired by the guy from Barenaked Ladies. I think it came out pretty good!

Camping

Sunday, October 10th, 2004

We went camping at Sycamore Canyon this weekend. It actually started out a bit crazy as raced out to get the kids from school and get to the campground to get a good spot. We thought it was humorous when we told the girl in the booth what spots we liked and if they were open. She responded, “I don’t know, I’ve never been back there.” But we picked our spots and set up camp. As time passed, we started to realize how many things we forgot.Thankfully we were not too far from home and civilization so we could run to the store. All in all it was a good trip, dirty fun. When we were on our way home from church tonight the kids were reminiscing about it. Christian actually started to tear up because he had such a good time. Emma was relating the things she “hated” about camping which included being dirty and getting knotty hair. What a girly girl! I said I didn’t like being cold and Christian agreed. Riley capped off the discussion by saying, “I hated nothing about camping. I love everything!” The eternal optimist in our family. All was well, but I can’t wait to sleep in my bed tonight! G’nite everybody!
