ne·phros·to·my
That is, a tube inserted through the skin, into the kidney to drain it because of blockage, created in our case by tumors and a calcified stent.
That’s what I did this weekend.
I am pooped. I find it interesting that when your kid is in the hospital, they give the parent a torturous cot to sleep on, hence no sleep. Then they expect you to be up and around at the crack of dawn doing I don’t know what since you are in the hospital for pete’s sake. Can’t we just rest? “We need to get up and around. Ready to go home.” OI! I didn’t sleep! Remember the crying baby, the IV alarms, the slamming doors, the squeaking air conditioner? Remember that “Miss I’m used to being up all night”? (No offense Kristi, I’m sure you will be a considerate nurse.) Ok, I’m just exhausted. Pay me no never mind atall.
Thanks again for your care and prayers. We are tenatively scheduled for March 28th to get that damn tumor ridden ureter out of there. Stay tuned for more tales from the 4th floor. Love, Me.

Martha, I can’t believe what you guys are enduring. If I had a fraction of your strength… Your family is amazing. We prayed at the bridge tonight. Greg had us hold our kidney. Not sure if he knows we actually have two,(hee, hee.) Anyway, your attitude continues to glorify our God and when the time comes that our endurance is tested, the memory of yours will sustain us.

Thanks, Michel! It is becuase we have so many people upholdiing us and praying for us that we press on. Read Nathans latest about a family who exceeds our strength by light years.

i’m seeing more and more just how much strength God can provide us. i feel like i couldn’t do it because i can’t. but when, God forbid, these times come, He’s there for us and His people just endure.
having just spent some nights in the hospital after quinn was born, i know how you’re feeling martha. recovery nurses can be the worst.
