Making a decision

Making a decision

I was asked about returning to work at the school my kids attend recently. I am torn and having a super difficult time with this. The only reasons not to do it seem to be selfish ones. Any advice, o wise ones?

I’m not all that wise, but here goes my advice:
Make a list of the pros and cons of going back to work, then go over it with Jared. See what happens. :-)

    Would it be full time?
I agree with Kristi, but pray about it too.

Avoid work at all costs. Seriously, I’m not joking.

it’s my opinion that women that don’t go to work (even doing volunteer work) after their kids are in school go crazy. you gotta do something, even if it’s something fun.

Nathan, the question is not IF I should do something, but WHAT? I do now already work doing Bridge Kids and play tennis…but is that enough? Also, there is the financial consideration. We would be put in a position to really save some money should I choose to take a job there. My fear is that being stressed out by the work load will affect my family life.

First, you all have too much energy! I know when I’m working and especially when I worked outside my house it put stress on the family. It feels more natural to be at home as a mother (for me) yet it’s personally empowering to contribute income; that’s kind of selfish and kind of not.
You can alwys try it and quit if it’s not working right?

I guess it is just hard for me to think I will be home everyday, all day no kids to care for. Trying to come up with things to fill the space that aren’t useless. Maybe I am thinking too hard about it and I should just go with the flow and see what happens. About quitting…if I teach, I will not quit mid-year. I did that once to a class and it was very traumatic for everyone.

i shoulda said “people” instead of “women” before. oh well… anywho, i say go for it, even if you won’t leave in the middle of the school year, it’s only a school year. that’s not very much time…just long enough to drive you crazy! plus, the added income will help you maintain your caviar addiction.
