Positively speaking
I decided I needed to post something on the good side of school since it was starting to sound like I don’t have anything good happen. We had our first algebra test and about 4 got 100’s and several more got A’s. Only one got a flat out F and even that dooesn’t really bug me knowing that the Abeka curriculum uses a higher scale for grades (ie 100-94=A). So that is good news to me. I am actually getting this stuff across to the kids. Another great thing is the way the 8th grade class and I have mended our past. I taught them in 5th grade and it was a very difficult year for all involved. We were all a bit nervous about being together again. But, I told them God is into redemption and I think he gave us this year for that. So there ya go…something good is happeneing at CHCS!

How awesome you can bring God into your teaching without hiding it. I wonder if the kids know how priveliged they are?

So the kid who got an F really got a C? Man, when they go to High School the F students will be happy to be “average.”

No, it was a bonifide F…in the low 60’s…he wishes!

isn’t 60’s a D? you know what it means when you have a lot of A’s right? your tests aren’t hard enough!

Here is the Scale we use:
A= 100-93
B= 92-84
C= 83-75
D= 74-65
F= 64 and lower
And, I don’t make the tests. They are created by the curriculum. Just admit it: I Rock!

you rock!

Or you’re an awsome teacher. I happen to know Martha is one of the few! She rocks.
60 is a D.
59 and lower = F

Private schools sometimes have different grading scales.

yeah, but martha was saying it was a “bonafide f” which low 60s is not. i do think you’re a good teacher and was just poking fun at the whole “a c is average” philosophy. it’s like a certain percentage of the population is required to be dumb.

They’re not?
