Christian 1st day of 4th grade

I can’t believe that I am the parent of a 9 year old! Happy Day to Christian…one sunny hot day in October, 9 years ago, we took an hour drive to Queens Hospital in Hawaii. 24 hours later, 4 of which were pushing and culminating in a vacuum delivery - our first born entered the world, on his due date, no less. It has been a blast ever since. I put this picture in becuase it reminds me of when he was a baby and people (mostly strangers) would try to talk to him and this was very close to the look he would give them. At the time it was very embarassing, but now I look back and laugh.

Guilt

Friday, October 7th, 2005

From Wikipedia:
Some thinkers have theorized that guilt is used as a tool of social control. Since guilty people feel they are undeserving, they are less likely to assert their rights and prerogatives. Thus, those in power seek to cultivate a sense of guilt among the populace, in order to make them more tractable. This was a theme in Eric Hoffer’s The True Believer.

I hate that people use guilt as a way to get you to do things. I think it is really crappy and I am really working on not allowing that to happen in my life. I feel as though I have been controlled into thinking I need certain approval, and therefore performed out of guilt. No more! I am no longer performong out of guilt!

80’s Martha

Here is my 80’s wear. Notice the smile…I still had energy. Spirit week is exhausting. Check out the other SW pics on my flickr. My wacky day pic is on there, too.

Hang in there…

I saw this poster on the way to LA one time and it just tickled me. I had just gotten my razr so the picture isn’t great.

It says “Hang in there…Shabbat is coming.”

This week is spirit week for the Middle School. Tomorrow is “Late For School Day” Any suggestions on what to wear?

Here are the others:

Retro (I think I’ll go 80’s)
Wacky Wednesday (pretty much anything goes)
Heritage or Culture Day
Crazy Eagle Day (school colors and clothing)
