Kids have a way of telling it like it is. Whether they should or not. One of my 7th graders told me today that I always cut the quizzes crooked. Did I really need to know that? Do I care? Why?

you should suggest that if he has a problem with the way they are cut, he should do it for you.

What do you mean you cut them crooked? Do you cut your own 8 1/1 x 11 pieces of paper??

huh? No, The quizzes come two two a page so I cut them in half. My school has one paper cutter in the office downstairs. So, I use scissors and I reallt don’t have time nor do I care if they are straight.

Hah. Funny. I was checking the blog-world while at work so didn’t want to take too much time. I forgot to put my name. I’m jsut kidding of course. Like, who cares if your quiz cuts are strait. If the kids made comments, I would cut them more-crookeder! But for some OCD orderly/tidy/neatness freeks, strait lines are a must.
And to get back to the point of your post, YES, kids just tell you. That’s all, they just do.

Next time a student says something like that you should give him/her a backhand to the face. Just do it and worry about the consequences later.
