I Don’t Get My Space
I Don’t Get My Space
I tried it. I logged in. I couldn’t find anyone I know. I got an email from some crackpot with compromising pictures of other women on his page asking me to be his friend. No thanks. I’ll stick to this blog. What the hell is the deal with it?

I know. I keep hearing about this “My Space” thing and I just think it’s spacy. No control. Everyone is complaining about how dangerous it is an all that. I find it impossible and unpleasant. My friend, who will remain nameless because she is 48 and embarrassed that she signed up for a My Space, says that blogs are way better. I tried to find HER SPACE and couldn’t get there. I realize I’m not that internet literate. I don’t know. I’m just learning what MP3’s are.

While I don’t know how myspace could ever be “dangerous”, I do think that Martha’s comments above pretty much sum up how I see myspace too.

i used to be a non believer…but I have found countless numbers of friends…well around 55…people that do not get blogging…but will keep a personal website updated if easy enought to do: enter myspace. Never had people want to be my friend with “compromsing pics” maybe he thought you were an old buddy. Not sure how its hard to find people…unless they dont give you their url http://www.myspace.com/thelittlejohnz

Somehow, someway, I ended up on Hillary Duff’s myspace site not too long ago. For real.
I’m scarred for life.
THAT’s how dangerous it can be, Jared, FYI.

myspace sucks.

and all you have since signed up lol.
there are precautions you can take.. you can make it private, unlisted, etc etc..and a person’s profile only tells about themselves.. so if they have nude pictures of whatever, for one its against the Terms Of Service, and it only tells you alot of about them..
it is great website for staying in touch and meeting up with old friends.. friends i would never see normally are people i can talk to with a click of the mouse.. not to mention friends who have moved away or are from my past..
use it for what it was intended for and dont let the negatives overshadow the enormous positives it has..

Myspace is very simple and basic, it has everything pretty much set up, you just need to fill in the blanks, you can choose what is showed to public and what is to be private, and its very easy to find friends, if you have any, they have tabs like “Search” you can type in your friends name, email, or display name its not that difficult!
And there may be people on there that are what we call “friend whores” and they will add everyone or try to talk to everyone, you make the choice to reply or no or deny.
