WHY …MCA?

I guess I set my expectations too high for people and some days things bother me more than others. Today I went to (we’ll call it the “Y”) for privacy’s sake. I asked the worker who was at the counter if I could sign up my kids for a soccer club beginning next month, if it wasn’t full, I told her. She first had no clue of such club and asked if I wanted Itty Bitty Soccer. I said no, I wanted the soccer club. “All we have is Itty Bitty Soccer.” I said I talked to someone who said there was a soccer club. She asked who I talked to. I said “the guy who runs the soccer club.” She looked at her list and lo and behold there was a soccer club. Not the sharpest tack in the box. So she hands me the paperwork, and says “yes, there’s room.” So I fill it out and write the check. She takes it and sits at the computer. Tap, tap, tap. Pause. “Oh,” she says “looks like we’re full.” I say, “So, I did all this for nothing,” pointing at the paperwork. She snottily replies, “We don’t update it every hour or anything.” I said, “You could have looked it up before I filled out all the papers.” She just stares at me. I walk out. Was it unreasonable to think that “Y” employee would look at a more reliable source before handing out paperwork? I have Wednesday issues.

What a smart girl. I feel your pain with that story.

It was not “unreasonable” to hope for an employee to think farther than the paper on her desk, but your expecations are probably too high. The thing you SHOULD expect is courtesy and an apology when the counter person does something like that. After all, you are the customer.

Looks like it’s time to sign up for Girl Scouts. I’ll help!

    What are Wednesday issues?

Ive noticed that the guys in the morning are much more courteous and friendly than the girls in the afternoon and evening. If you know her name you should call and let them know, I think Margo is the person to talk to but Im not positive.

She sure didn’t go “out of her way” for you. So no soccer for the kids? How ’bout fencing or bowling?
