To fix or not to fix…

To fix or not to fix…

After going the whole summer without the screen on my laptop w0rking I finally called to see what it would cost to fix it. And the grand total is…$438! We already spent close to that on getting something else on it fixed about a year ago, and after shopping I found I could get a new laptop for only $200 more than the repairs this time. If I repair it, I’ve then spent more than the cost of a new one. What makes sense? I’m pretty sure with cars when this happens, you buy the newer car. Now, this is not open season on PC’s, just sound advice searching. And Macs are more expensive. Jared left his phone at home today or I would call him for advice.

ok a car I would fix, because the way I see it, the amount it woud cost to fix a car would be like maybe one or two payments of the new one. The cheapest thing you have is the one you own! However for something like a computer, I’d probably go with a new one….only because things upgrade and get better. And the cost to replace isn’t that much.

Jared called and he thinks we should just get the new one. Evidently it has some bonus features that make it even more worth it. Who would of ever thought that computers would become so disposable?

laptops always have been…that’s why they’re such a terrible value.

Can you sell it on ebay for some $$ towards a new computer? That’s what Dan does, he sells one in order to buy a new one.

Not one where the screen doesn’t work, I don’t think.

People can refurbish it, then sell it “like new” at computer fairs and the like. People need keyboards to laptops just like they need screens.
