I had a day of work planned…

My day started fine. I had a good run, did some sit ups. When I got home from the gym- I got ready, kids ate and off we went. They were going to day camp while I worked in my classroom. We decided to take a quick trip to the library to get some books in case they were bored after going to the water park. So, loaded up with good reading material, we head back towards Ventura. As I make my way onto the freeway, I notice an Oxnard Police Officer sitting in the middle of the road. He sees me, flips a u turn, and follows me onto the freeway, then hits the lights. I’m really trying to wrack(?) my brain as to what I could have done. So I pull over. He walks up…tells me he’s pulled me over for not wearing my seatbelt correctly. My thought is that he THOUGHT I wasn’t wearing it all, then saw I was and came up with a lame excuse for pulling me over. So, in the end he gives me a ticket for “no seatbelt”. I didn’t notice the wording until after the fact and now I’m ticked. I’m gonna fight it. Lying jerk! By niw I’m totally flustered and realize I forgot all the kids stuff for the water park. So I have to go get it. Finally by 12 pm, I’m in my class working. To complete my day a parent comes in and is pissed at me becuase she says I lost some pictures of hers. All in all- not a picture perfect day. I did finally get rid of the over 300 National Geographics in my classroom. Here’s to little accomplishments. I should have just gone to the beach with the girls. Now, I’m gonna go have a margarita. That will make it all better, right?

That is obscene! How were you wearing it? Did you ask him how to properly wear a seat belt?

  2. martha Says:

I had it tucked under my armpit becuase sometimes it hurts my neck, but I don’t do that often.

I’m was gonna say the same thing….should’ve gone to the beach with the girls! No oxnard pd there!

You can fight that. I’ve known people who have fought what stupid cops have said. Bad thing is that I think you may have to fight it before a judge…
Dumb.very dumb. What a complete waste of time. I have no patience for jerk cops.

  5. martha Says:

Oh I will be there, judge or no judge. I’m not afraid!

You go, girl! The ticket was bogus. But don’t forget to call everyone in the courtroom “sir” or “your magesty” or they’ll give you a fine, community service and probably jail time.

Bummer!! What a waste of time!

  8. Kristi Says:

Actually, Allison, if Martha went to the beach, there would have been an even better chance that she would’ve gotten ran over instead of just getting a ticket!!!!!

  9. Beka Says:

Well, that sucks! Sounds like a pretty crappy day, but good for you for fighting this ticket!

BTW, your family is gorgeous! Love the pictures!

You were on the right track in regards to making your day better, but you made this mistake: You had “a” maragarita. In my experience it takes 3 or 4 to make up for a day like that. Next time, try a litte harder and you might just succeed. I know you can do it! BFL baby!
