ouch!

That can’t be her x-ray? Right?
August 18th, 2006 at 9:42 am
The break is at the elbow.

first a fake skunk, now a fake x-ray! i was really worried for her, now i don’t know what to think. with surgery it’s gotta still be pretty bad though, right? we’ll be praying.

Think google has cool pictures people can use on their blogs to illustrate their point and that not everyone is _______(you fill it in) enough to take a picture with their camera phone. And they aren’t fake, just representations. Geez. And pllbbblllbbbb!

That x-ray does look pretty much exactly like what happened to my left arm when I broke it though, except that mine was also split vertically from the point of the break down to the elbow. Weird.
I’ll have to reference this picture when I try to explain it to people from now on. It’s always fun to gross people out by telling them how when I was trying to stand up and pull my arm up, I could feel that top part (from the shoulder down) moving inside my arm but disconnected from the rest of my arm, so I had to pick it up and carry it with my other hand.

I am such a sucker.

How is Jacquie doing? Has she had the surgery yet? I like the skunk pic, but I assumed the xray was real and was really sickened by the thought of what she was going through…although I’m sure she feels the same way that person felt, it just feltlike we were being tricked or something.

The surgery was scheduled for 1pm - I haven’t heard anything since then.
As for the picture, I think it was a clever way to give a little graphic emphasis to what happened, even if it wasn’t the actual x-ray of this particular case, which would have been pretty impressive since I think this was posted only a couple hours after it actually happened.

Yeah, I’m big into trickery. Ha ha haaaaaa. Gotcha.

Jac’s Xray probably looked a tad worse than this one. The orthopedic surgeon was pretty darn impressed with what she did. Her radius was crushed where it meets the elbow joint and the ulna was spiral fractured. (The radius and ulna are the bones in her forearm). It looked nasty beforehand. It wasn’t a compound fracture (where the bones come out of the skin- like I’m sure you can appreciate, Jared!), but it was close. I gotta get the before pics off my cell phone and post them. With Jacrabbit’s permission, of course!

Yeah I figured that wasn’t the real x-ray. Unless martha took a picture of the x-ray…
Hope Jac is feeling better and she heals quickly.

She’s doing well. In a lot of pain but recovering. She’ll go home today.

i’m home. no domestic abuse. just a stupid mistake on my morning bike ride. missed out on alot of fun last weekend. thanks for all the nice calls and prayer. now i have to learn to operate a mouse with my left hand and type one handed. slooooooow. at least i’m as cool as randy and jared now. i think jared had a longer surgery than mine though.
good job on the picture, sha sha.

How long was it? Mine was 8 hours.
August 23rd, 2006 at 6:33 am
a brief 3 hours. i was nowhere near as mangled as you. i can’t believe they didn’t cut your jacket off. i had kristi hacking mine off before they could even discuss it much.
August 23rd, 2006 at 7:38 pm
Yeah, I was trying to explain how bad I thought it was and specifically asked them to cut it off, but I think they thought I was exaggerating, so they made me pull it off.
