Oh, you MySpace haters… hopefully those legions of MySpace defenders don’t find their way over here from Dan’s blog; those were some “interesting” comments.
I actually don’t mind the idea of MySpace in one sense, since it’s kind of cool that it does allow a lot of people to connect/reconnect that otherwise would not have. My main issues with it are the bad layouts / site design on a lot of the pages I’ve seen (which I guess is the user’s problem, not the company’s). I also don’t like the concept of “collecting friends” for no apparent purpose, but I could see how it would be useful. It would be nice if the blogging features were better or more prominent, but since no one ever uses them I guess that doesn’t matter too much. Lastly, since it’s now owned by Rupert Murdoch, that has to count as another mark against them.
I like myspace. I have reconnected with about 5 good friends from high school. I probably would not have otherwise. I hate that at certain times of day (right after school) it is almost impossible to get it to move from one page to the next. I do not accept friends unless I know them. Although, I also do not accept students as friends either. Somehow I got a girl on there I thought I knew. Now what? Delete her? What if she knows where I live?
So, no one noticed or commented on the fact that I said I reconnected with “FIENDS” from high school? Duh, this is why we point out spelling errors to friends. Thanks guys.

Ya, I agree, except that I would include everybody else and shut it down permanently.

I agree with Randy.

No, we just thought your friends from high school happened to also be fiends.
