My mouth
My mouth

So, I really don’t care for complaining especially when it is about something that a person has chosen to endure, buuuuut…I got the first installment on my braces. Spacers in my back teeth, top and bottom, 4 all together. Yeah, so, my mouth hurts. It hurt to eat a banana this morning. And, I keep squeezing them together like I need to remind myself that it’s still sore. I keep thinking, “You wanted this”, but somehow three days into a two year process, it isn’t comforting. It’s going to be worth it, right? Lie to me, if you must.

It will be worth it. It was painful having your kids, but they were worth it!

True. That was bit shorter and not just for me, but I see your point. I complained then, too. Dang. Maybe I am a complainer.

It will definitly be worth it, but i would have recommended waiting until after the holidays…or I guess its good because you won’t regain all the weight you lost!! Take advil it helps take the edge off some.

It WILL be worth it. They do hurt at first, but it will get better. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

I just want to know what imaginary friend did you adopt to help you through this stage in your life?

Now you can relate to your kids if they ever have to endure brace and I don’t know your exact diagnosis but it will probably improve your over all oral health which mean (hopefully) no dentures later on.

I feel your pain, I remember going through that issue back when I was 14, but yes when its all done, you will be pleased.

Just think, Martha: if millions of 2nd and 3rd graders can do it, you should have no problem! Just make sure you get a LOT of wax from your orthodontist. And keep a supply everywhere (purse, bathroom, car, work, nightstand, etc…).

Thanks for the encouragment. I’m excited. Just a little nervous. So far chewing is not so pleasant. I feel like a rodent chewing with my front teeth. hee hee. Good times.
