Even French wait staff and sardine canners get an average of 6-8 weeks. Average for the US, are you ready for this 2 weeks! No wonder why we hate work, we spend to much time there. If you don't (and can't adjust to learning to like it or changing it enough so that's possible), then I'd say it's time to think about changing jobs. Of course, that's not always possible either, but it's worth exploring if a job is really bugging you that bad. I guess my main point was that even if I was "free to do whatever", I'd probably spend a decent portion of that time doing what I do now (with some differences, of course). Well, of course I’d rather be able to just do whatever, but since it’s a requirement for most people to have some sort of job, I think it’s pretty important to like the one that you have.
